Today\'s world requires increasingly efficient protection solutions for electronic and electrical equipment, and that is where surge protective devices (SPDs) come in. These devices are designed to protect sensitive circuits against short-term overvoltages, in the form of transient voltage spikes or ESD events. An important component in surge protection circuity is the single-stage transient voltage suppressor (TVS). TVSs are used in a wide range of applications including automotive, industrial, video, communications, and consumer electronics.

Among the various TVS, the V8ZC2 is a varistor-based device designed for bidirectional protection against both ESD and transient overvoltages.
