The VB10-2037M is a series of miniature coaxial connectors with push-on coupling mechanisms typically used in medium-to-high frequency radio frequency (RF) applications. It offers a good data transmission performance over a wide frequency range, up to 18 GHz, and has extremely low VSWR values across the entire range.

It is designed to mate with both shielded power supply cables and standard GPR-50N (50 Ohm) coaxial waveguide cables. This connector series offers an especially good performance when combined with 50 Ohm impedance cables for use in military and commercial applications. The contacts are gold-plated and the housing is made of aluminum alloy.

The VB10-2037M is rated for interconnections up to one thousand watts of power at a frequency of 18 GHz. The impedance of the connector is in the range of 40 to 50 Ohms. The VSWR is 1.45 to 1 in this frequency range, which is considered to be outstanding for a miniature connector.

Working Principle

The design of this push-on coupling connector enables a fast, secure electrical connection between two cables. The connector uses screw point technology, a spring-loaded collar that is manually tightened by turning the mating barrel. The collar grips onto the cable’s conductive steel braiding, and with the internal spring keeps the tight connection during vibration and shock.

The other parts of the VB10-2037M consists of a bayonet coupling nut, four integral contacts, the dielectric insulator, a threaded cover, a fiber EMI gasket, and the locking mechanism. All of these components work together to create a reliable connection that is both waterproof and dust-proof. Additionally, the contact arrangement allows for two independent power lines to be connected in one connector.
