The VB525SP-E power distribution switch and load driver is a high-performance device, designed as a space-saving package for automotive and industrial applications. It is mainly used in batteries, power systems, solar applications, and some industrial applications.

The VB525SP-E is a MOSFET Load Driver capable of driving several loads independently with high-side/low-side switching, providing an adjustable current limit of 1A, 2A and 3A. Working Principle of VB525SP-E

In order to properly use the VB525SP-E power distribution switch and load driver, it’s important to understand its operation and the various inputs and outputs it has. It works either in high-side driving or in low-side driving mode, thanks to its high-side / low-side switchable drivers. The switching operation is achieved with two independent output enable signals (EN1 and EN2).

Independent of the output enable inputs, an adjustable current limit of 1A to 3A is available, allowing the equipped battery to prevent from over-current damage. Thanks to its wide input voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V, the VB525SP-E is suitable for automotive and industrial applications. On the output side, the supported output voltage range is 0.8V to 5V.

This power distribution switch and load driver also provides a built-in over-voltage protection, that prevents from reaching dangerous output voltages. It has a thermal shutdown and diagnostic circuitry in case of over-temperature, as well as a built-in transient immunity providing an improved protection to any external ESD.
