The VBUS051CD-HD1-G-08 comes in a space-saving VQFN-6L package with a lead-mite design for better board-level grounding.Working Principle
The TVS diode works on the principle of reverse breakdown of a semiconductor diode. When voltage is applied across a diode in the reverse direction, power is dissipated in the form of heat before the device breaks down. During this process, the voltage across the diode decreases gradually until it reaches a certain value called the reverse breakdown voltage.When this occurs, current passes through the diode in the reverse direction, and the device is said to be in the breakdown mode. This peak value of the current is defined as the peak pulse current rating, or Ipp.The VBUS051CD-HD1-G-08 includes two low-capacitance TVS diodes connected in series for each input line. This diode combination is optimized for minimal capacitance while clamping against ESD events. The two series-connected TVS diodes help absorb large amounts of ESD energy and also help balance the operating voltage, also referred to as clamping ratio.Conclusion
