The VDN5025LAK-E is a type of inductive Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC), designed to deliver the required power to electronic devices like programmable logic controls, stepper motors and dc motors. This enables designers to develop efficient power systems for a wide range of applications. It is a low-voltage driver that can provide up to 5 A and up to 20 kW, depending on the feature. Because it is a dedicated Power Management IC, it can be used for a variety of products such as cell phones, robotics, automotive systems, satellite navigation and other industrial applications.

The VDN5025LAK-E is capable of providing up to 5 A of output, and can operate between 5 - 55 V for applications requiring greater power than regular power supplies. It efficiently delivers power, and it offers a high efficiency and low power dissipation, thus reducing the noise generated by the power supply. Furthermore, it features soft-start, current sharing, over-voltage and thermal protection and ability to withstand voltage transients.

The VDN5025LAK-E is designed to work in several different topologies; the main two being buck and boost. The main difference between a buck regulator and a boost regulator is that a buck regulator decreases the input voltage while the boost regulator raises the input voltage. This makes the device suitable for applications in which the desired voltage is lower than the available voltage. It can also be used with its low-noise internal oscillator and/or an external reference signal, eliminating the need for external filters.

The VDN5025LAK-E also has thermal sensing capability that allows for enhanced temperature monitoring and protection.
