The VNQ860SPTR-E power distribution switch, load driver is a versatile integrated circuit designed for industrial, automotive, and aerospace applications. The device is designed to provide a low-voltage, high-current power distribution switch or load driver. It can be configured as a single-pole, multiple-throw (SPMT) switch, which is ideal for controlling and routing power from several sources to one or more load terminations. It can also be configured as a low-side driver, which is useful for driving motors, solenoids, relays, and other electromechanical devices. Furthermore, it can be programmed with adjustable operating parameters, including turn-on and turn-off delays, on-threshold and current limit, and thermal protection.
The circuit contains several components, including a pair of P-channel and N-channel MOSFETs, several voltage-level detectors, current-sensing circuit, control logic, and several logic gates. The P-channel MOSFET is used to route the power source to its load, while the N-channel MOSFET is used to regulate the load current. The voltage-level detectors provide the reference points for controlling the P-channel MOSFET gate voltage and the N-channel MOSFET gate voltage. The control logic is responsible for operating the device according to the programmed parameters while ensuring a safe and reliable operation.

It provides an excellent thermal performance, with a maximum junction temperature of 125 ºC. It is designed to operate over an extended temperature range of -40 °C to 85 °C.
