Working Principle:
VOR2121B8 is a 24V AC input SSR. It contains a zero-crossing SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier), a light-emitting diode and a protection diode. When the power is turned on, the zero-crossing SCR will detect the zero voltage of the power signal and conduct current. At the same time, the light-emitting diode starts to emit light; when the current reaches the rated current, the SCR will cut off to achieve the switch action. When the power is turned off, the light-emitting diode will be turned off and the SCR will be opened. The protection diode in the VOR2121B8 serves to protect the SCR from high voltage.

Compared with mechanical switches, SSR has no mechanical wear, no arc formation and can work stably and reliably at high frequency under strong vibration conditions. Moreover, it has superior insulation properties, making it safe and reliable to use. For these reasons, solid state relays are widely used in industries where high reliability and fast response are required.
