Diodes - Bridge Rectifiers, have been used in a wide variety of applications, such as in audio-frequency rectification, power-supply rectification and voltage-doubling rectification. VSIB2020-E3/45 Bridge Rectifiers represent the most efficient, reliable and cost effective solutions to these problems.
The VSIB2020-E3/45 Bridge Rectifier consists of four individual diodes connected in a bridge configuration. This model is designed to provide full wave rectification without the need for a center tap. The four diodes form two separate paths for the current to travel, allowing current to flow in opposite directions on the two halves of the circuit. There are two identical paths for the current to traverse, enabling more efficient conversion from alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC).
The two parts of the VSIB2020-E3/45 Bridge Rectifier are connected in a simple circuit formation, where the input is connected to two of the diodes and the output is connected to the other two. Each diode will conduct current in the forward direction, but will block the current flow in the reverse direction. When the input voltage is applied, the same amount of current will be produced at the output, regardless of the polarity of the input voltage.
