Snap Action Switches and Limit Switches

The WLHAL6 is an electromechanical device designed for use in industrial and commercial applications that require accurate control of mechanical force. It is a non-contact snap action switch which offers precise triggering, while having the ability to withstand prolonged operation in harsh environmental conditions. The WLHAL6 is best suited for use in applications where mechanically reliable switching is required in confined space and reliable control of process conditions over long periods of time. It can be used for controlling the operation of valves and for other processes that require precise control of force and consistent operation.

Design and Construction

The WLHAL6 switch contains two key components: a fully enclosed encasing and a single coil spring. The encasing houses the coil spring, which is connected to a nut and actuating lever. When a force is applied to the lever, the spring is compressed, and when it reaches the set switching point, the contacts of the switch make and break contact. Depending on the device design, the contact make and break point can be adjustable.

The WLHAL6 switch is composed of three materials - diecast aluminum, steel, and plastic. The steel and plastic components provide the device with durability, while the diecast aluminum enclosure offers superior environmental protection. The aluminum offers superior thermal dissipation and reduces the risk of static electricity with its electrostatic discharge (ESD) properties.

Working Principle

The WLHAL6 switch works by using the basic principles of dual-pole switching. When the contact point of the switch is activated, it produces an electrical current. This current is then passed through two poles: the contact point of the switch and the return point. When the current passes through the poles, it creates an electromagnetic field, which causes a force to be applied to the lever, causing the contacts of the switch to open or close. This process allows the switch to operate in a reliable and consistent manner over an extended period of time.

Applications

The WLHAL6 switch can be used in a variety of industrial and commercial applications, including motor control, heating and cooling control, process control, and automation control. It is especially useful in applications where reliable switching of low-voltage, low-current circuits is required. It is also suitable for applications where precise and consistent operation is essential, such as in machine tools, cooking and food processing equipment, and medical equipment.

Advantages

The WLHAL6 switch offers several advantages over traditional snap-action switches, including:

  • High switching durability, even in harsh and damp environments
  • Good operability in light load applications
  • High accuracy, with contact make and break points adjustable
  • Fast response and long life
  • Compact, lightweight construction

The WLHAL6 switch is a reliable, accurate, and efficient switching solution for industrial and commercial applications. It provides a cost-effective and durable way to switch low-voltage and low-current circuits in demanding environments.
