Introduction

The WLNJ series of snap action limit switches are designed to replace some of the older more costly styles of industrial limit switches. This switch is made with a specially designed solid state circuit board that uses the latest technology to produce a cost effective switch that is capable of meeting performance requirements in a wide range of demanding environments.

Application Field

The WLNJ series of industrial switches are used in many different applications. Construction

The WLNJ switch is a compact, versatile and robust device. Its construction consists of an actuator, which is a plunger that is spring loaded and released when the switch is actuated, a lever arm, and a contact block, which holds the contacts and is actuated by the lever arm. The contacts are housed in a hermetically sealed casing that protects them from harsh environmental conditions. The devices are sealed to an IP67 rating, making them resistant to dust and water.

Function

When in the ON state, the WLNJ will provide power to the connected device or system. When the switch is in the OFF state, it will cut off power to the device or system. There are two types of power supplies that can be used to power the switch; AC or DC. It is possible to mount the switch on metal, plastic or composites and it will withstand temperatures between –20 to +70 degrees Celsius. The WLNJ switch is also equipped with a reset button, which can be pressed to reset the switch if it has become misaligned or locked in the ON position.

Technical Specifications

The WLNJ switch is available in three sizes: small (9 x 19mm), medium (13 x 22mm) and large (17 x 24mm). The travel of the actuator is 6mm and the maximum operating current is 1A. The maximum contact gap size is 0.2mm. The switch has a maximum contact capacitance of 0.2uF and a maximum contact resistance of 1000 ohms. The switch is rated for up to 6,000 operations per minute. The mechanical durability is up to 5 million operations.

Working Principle

The WLNJ switch operates on the mechanical principle of a plunger which is springloaded and released when the switch is actuated. When the lever arm moves, the plunger pushes against the contact assembly and actuates the switch. When the lever arm moves back, the plunger releases and the contacts open, cutting off power to the connected device or system. The switch is designed so that it has a long life and can be used in a wide range of demanding applications. The switch is designed to be resistant to dust, moisture and extreme temperatures, making it suitable for many different industrial and commercial applications.
