Proximity/Occupancy Sensors - Finished Units are utilized in a variety of applications to accurately determine the occupancy and/or the dwelling time of a person or vehicle. The WSPEM480LWO-D-GY is a high-performance inductive proximity/occupancy sensor that features a very high-frequency signal, catching the smallest movements, and will be finalized with a rotating NPN output to enable reliable occupancy sensing.

The WSPEM480LWO-D is capable of detecting both single persons and multiple persons, which is suitable for applications such as public toilets, elevators, and so forth with restricted areas where the sensing is required. Also, it is capable of detecting small movements (as small as 400 microseconds) to accurately detect people walking at slow speeds.

The WSPEM480LWO-D-GY will have a variety of outputs available, including NPN outputs, digital outputs, and combination outputs. It will also feature an adjustable sensitivity that enables users to choose the best configuration based on the application. The adjustable sensitivity allows users to tune the sensing power of the sensor to match the environment of the application. The WSPEM480LWO-D-GY operates by sending a high frequency signal of approximately 8.6kHz through a coil that is connected to a primary circuit. When an object enters the field of the WSPEM480LWO-D-GY, the electrical signal is disrupted, and the primary circuit of the WSPEM480LWO-D-GY switches to a secondary circuit, thus triggering the NPN output which powers the circuit. The NPN output is adjustable between 10mA and 30mA.
