Working off of an input voltage, the buck converter reduces the voltage and steps up the current, allowing energy to flow from an input voltage source to the output load.The X40235S16I-BT1 contains two buck channels: one with a fixed output voltage (VOUT1) and one with an adjustable output voltage (VOUT2). It also contains two sense pins (VS2/VI2), which can be used to detect the load current, as well as a wide input voltage range (6V up to 25V). The device features:1. Low quiescent current with the standby mode disabled;2. Programmable soft-start and output voltage adjustment with the I2C interface;3. Differential remote voltage sensing with the VS2/VI2 pins;4. Dynamic and adaptive loop gain to improve transient stability;5. Over-voltage/over-temperature/under-voltage protection;6. Surface-mount package for improved heat dissipation;7. Adjustable switching frequency.The X40235S16I-BT1 is built to ensure high efficiencies of up to 94% under various load conditions. The inductor current is regulated by sensing the voltage at the drain of the internal power MOSFETs. A fraction of this voltage is compared to the input voltage while another fraction of the voltage is compared to a peak voltage reference, and the error signal is used to adjust the switching frequency and duty cycle.The X40235S16I-BT1 is designed to provide reliable, wide-input voltage range power in various industrial and automotive applications. Its low quiescent current, low thermal dissipation, over-voltage/over-temperature/under-voltage protection, and adjustable switching frequency make it suitable for a variety of applications.
