The Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA enables the XBP09-DMDK to have Differential Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (DQAM) and Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK) as the principal modulation techniques employed. It can be used to support both Bluetooth (v2.1 and v4.0) and WLAN (802.11b and 802.11g) communication protocols. The FPGA also supports UWB (1 Mbps) communication to provide high-speed, reliable data transfers. The XBP09-DMDK includes several hardware and software components such as an on-board Radio Transceiver, a physical layer interface, a digital controller module, and an RJ45 Port for a link to an outside network. The Radio Transceiver is connected to the physical layer through an Ethernet PHY module and enables fast and robust communication through the available protocols. The controller module conforming to CPRI standard and can also be used to interface with external devices. The RJ45 port simplifies the switch to an outside network. In addition to the hardware components, the XBP09-DMDK also comes with the TrustPort PC software, which allows users to set up, configure, and monitor their wireless applications. The TrustPort also includes “Auto-Mapping”, which gives users the ability to easily map their transmission parameters and validate their communication settings. Users can also use the included software tools (e.g. Signal Visualizer, Signaller, and RF Analyzer) to quickly perform RF testing and analysis.
