XC17256EVO8C is an 8,768-word content-addressable memory (CAM) that is designed to store configuration data for field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). This memory provides the user a means to store programming information that is necessary for the FPGA to operate in the intended application. This type of memory is essential for FPGA designs due to the fact that the design of the FPGA is not yet complete when the program is loaded. Before the FPGA can operate, configuration data must be loaded into the FPGA before it can be operated. The FPGA configuration data is stored in XC17256EVO8C memory and is specific for the particular FPGA design.XC17256EVO8C offers the user an opportunity to store the necessary FPGA configuration data in a single memory device, minimizing the need for multiple memory devices.
