The XC6601B121MR-G Integrated Circuit Voltage Regulator is a mobile voltage regulator designed to provide a wide range of adjustable 3.2V - 5.5V output voltage in a small 5mm x 5mm QFN package. This linear voltage regulator features low quiescent current and true output voltage accuracy of ±3.3%. Package also features enable pin, power-good indicator, feedback detect pin and over-voltage protection (OVP) pin.
XC6601B121MR-G can be used to provide high performance power supply solutions for smartphones, tablets and notebook PCs. The adjustable 3.2V output voltage is suitable for the power requirement of multiple application circuits. Working Principle
The XC6601B121MR-G integrated circuit voltage regulator is a low drop-out (LDO) linear regulator which features a voltage reference, an error amplifier, an output drive circuit and a thermal warning circuit. As shown in the figure, the output voltage is regulated by adjusting the output current which is controlled by the error amplifier. The error amplifier compares the output voltage with the internal voltage reference which is determined by the trigger voltage of the voltage reference. If the output voltage is higher than the reference voltage (Vref), the output current will decrease, thus reduces the output voltage. On the other hand, if the output voltage is lower than the reference voltage, the output current will increase such that the output voltage increases.
The integrated OVP circuit can sense the over-voltage event then shuts off the output voltage once it is detected. In addition, the chip also features a power-good indicator. The indicator is active and the output voltage drops below the accuracy range if the output voltage is not good. The feedback detect pin can also recognize any round-trip transmission to detect the output voltage.
