XDMDK14C3 is a display module, which is classified as a LED character and numeric module. It is a 14.0 mm (0.55 inch) character height seven segment display with common anode, featuring excellent corrosion resistance, wide viewing angle, great picture uniformity and long life.This module consists of seven segments, fourteen pins, and a driver IC. The characters are designed using different combinations of light emitting diodes (LEDs) that emit light when electricity passes through. The 14 pins are arranged as two end pins and then 6 pins in two trailing rows in between. The two end pins is anode, the others are cathode. The anode is connected to the appropriate current source and the the cathode is connected to various electronic signals.In addition, this module has an on-board driver IC. It is a low power consumption 16 pin MSSOP-type monostable integrated circuit. The driver IC consists of seven current sources/sinks that control the display by controlling the current flow through the display segments. The driver has a single operating voltage and uses a low current consumption logic system to drive the 7 segments.
