The XRT83SL28IV-F is a low-cost digital pin-programmable quad T1/E1 framer with Link Interface capabilities. It acts as the interface between the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) or CMOS Framer and the physical transmission medium. The XRT83SL28IV-F is designed primarily for use in public switched telephone networks (PSTN), Packet Networks and Radio Network applications.

The XRT83SL28IV-F is a pin-programmable integrated framing solution providing four full-duplex T1/E1 ports with both transmit and receive synchronous clock support on all ports. The XRT83SL28IV-F supports up to 8000 frames per second (kf/s) on all active ports. The XRT83SL28IV-F incorporates direct connection to the backplane and provides ten MGIF send/receive ports for interfacing to the external digital transmission systems.

The XRT83SL28IV-F is fully compatible with industry standard equivalent digital T1/E1 framers, meaning it can be used interchangeably with digital systems from other vendors. The XRT83SL28IV-F is also backward compatible with major PSTN, Radio and Packet networks, making it ideal for both retrofit and new installations.
