Gas Discharge Tube Arresters (GDT)

Gas discharge tube (GDT) arresters (also known as spark gaps) are commonly used to limit the surge voltage in applications such as power distribution networks, telecommunications equipment, and electronic circuits. A GDT consists of a low voltage sparking device surrounded by metal electrodes. These include: an over-voltage protector (VP), an over-current protector (CP), and an over-temperature protector (TP).
