ZGL41-130A-E3/97, or simply ZGL41, is a single diodes, zener type, with a consistent nominal working voltage of 130 Volts. It is used in devices that require a stabilized voltage and current regulation applicable for many dynamic applications. Generally, ZGL41 Zener Diodes provide voltage regulation and clipping protection for circuits and devices with this purpose in mind.

Thanks to its small and lightweight design, ZGL41 can be used in devices with small board mountings, such as cellular telephones, laptop computers and other similar devices, where space is at a premium. Inside, the ZGL41 uses a special kind of co-injection molding process to keep it affordable and reliable. This is also where its operational reliability comes from, as its construction is able to withstand high temperatures and is intrinsically resistant to corrosion and variations in environment such as pollution, humidity, amongst others.

The ZGL41 Zener Diode works in a primary circuit with a higher supply voltage than the nominal one. A voltage that is too high results in an excessive current that passes through the diode, which has the consequence of dissipating energy in the form of heat, without generating any voltage regulation or protection. This is when the ZGL41 comes in. It regulates current and voltage in a secondary circuit, and has a breakdown voltage, meaning it does not remain in a conducting state when the voltage applied is close to the diode’s nominal operating voltage.
