Working Principle

The ZICM357SP2-2 operating principle is based on the IEEE 802.15.4 communication protocol. It uses the Clear Channel Assessment (CCA) for detection and selection of available Radio Frequency (RF) channels. The measurements of the power levels in existing RF channels are taken, based on which the best suitable channel can be selected for data transfer. Furthermore, the module supports the frequency hopping mechanism to dynamically change the channel in order to mitigate interferences. The data frames transmitted over the air are encrypted with AES-128 by using the HOPE-32 standard in order to ensure secure transmission. The ZICM357SP2-2 transceiver supports a wide range of modulation protocols such as FSK, BFSK, GFSK, OFDM, and DSSS. The module also supports data rates up to 1000 kbps in FSK mode and 10 Mbps in OFDM mode. The innovative baseband SKY66111-11 AFE IC provides a fully integrated wide band receiver solution for the ZICM357SP2-2 transceiver to improve the sensitivity of the receiver system.
