The ZL40260LDF1 is a low-skew and low-jitter differential clock buffer and fanout device that is ideal for high-speed data transmission and clock synchronization applications. The device can drive 20 outputs while adding only 1.8 pF capacitive load to the input source. Optimized for high-speed data rates up to 1.25 Gb/s, the ZL40260LDF1 has low-skew and jitter which makes it an ideal solution for applications such as high-speed memory interface, storage area network, and Gigabit Ethernet.
The ZL40260LDF1 provides differential outputs that can drive multiple end-point devices, such as logic gates and other integrated circuits, with minimal skew and jitter. The differential outputs reduce the system noise level resulting in improved signal integrity. The wide operating range of the ZL40260LDF1 also allows for flexibility in the design stage and system optimization.
The ZL40260LDF1 is composed of four independent, 16-bit drivers, four PLL Phase-Locked Loops (PLLs), four digital logic control circuits, and four digital isolation control circuits. Each of the 16-bit drivers, or differential driver pairs, is connected to an 8-bit input bus. The PLLs contain two synchronous counters, a oscillator and a phase-frequency detector (and is used to lock the clock to a reference one). The other two primary components of the ZL40260LDF1 are the digital logic control circuits and the digital isolation control circuits. The logic control circuits provide control functions such as reset, enable, clock enable and power down. The digital isolation control circuits are used to control the isolation of the output drivers.
In addition, the ZL40260LDF1 includes an on-chip CMOS noise-immune memory for storing the configuration settings. The wide input voltage range (3.3 V to 5.5 V) and I/O voltage range (1.8 V to 3.3 V) enables the device to be used in a variety of systems. The push-pull output architecture allows for a wide output voltage range. The ZL40260LDF1 is RoHS compliant and is guaranteed to operate over the extended industrial temperature range of –40°C to 85°C.
The ZL40260LDF1 is ideally suited for a wide range of applications where high-speed, low-skew, and jitter-free operations are critical. It is well-suited for high-speed memory interface, storage area networks, and Gigabit Ethernet applications. The ZL40260LDF1 can be used to provide clock synchronization and to reduce the system noise level in these systems. In addition, the wide operating range and I/O voltage range make the device suitable for a variety of hardware and software tasks.
