ZL50030GAG2 Application Field and Working Principle
The ZL50030GAG2 is an integrated silicon that can provide up to 10 Gbps of transmission and reception serial data rate. It is designed for telecom applications and is well suited for Ethernet, Fibre Channel, SONET/SDH, Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), ATM and other optical related applications.
This device consists of receive and transmit serializer/deserializer (SerDes) cores, a multiple-lane Pattern Generator and Checker for BER testing and a selectable power meter. It is designed to minimize system power consumption with a low power, low latency architecture and is optimized for network infrastructure applications.

Working Principle of ZL50030GAG2
The ZL50030GAG2 SerDes has been optimized to operate over a wide temperature range. It has a fully digital, differential signaling architecture with a four-tap equalizer on both receiver and transmitter to reduce skewing and distortion. The transceiver can be configured to use different encoding/decoding schemes and is compatible with a variety of protocols such as Fibre Channel, Ethernet, SONET/SDH and ATM.
This device also features cross-lane and on-lane skew correction to ensure alignment of data lanes. It also features a unique pattern recognition engine to detect and report errors. The device has a selectable power meter to measure optical power levels and also supports jitter tests.
The ZL50030GAG2 also provides a low delay data converters for 156.25 MHz Clock and Data Recovery for both receive and transmit directions. It also offers a programmable equalization for both transmit and receive paths, thereby providing greater flexibility to the system.
By leveraging these features, it is possible to achieve very high transmission speeds and low latency, while also reducing power consumption. The ZL50030GAG2 is ideal for systems requiring high performance, scalability and reliability.
