A PMDI encapsulation sub-layer aggregates multiple lower-speed physical layer frames into a single high-speed frame stream. The PMDI sub-layer supports various media type such as SFP+, XFP, QSFP, CFP, and XAUI.
The ZL50070GAG2’s programmable backhaul scaling layer enables optimization of the traffic throughput across different physical layers. The backhaul scaling layer allows the chip to negotiate optimal line rates and line coding, while accommodating the different line speeds, protocol complexity, and traffic density found on today’s networks.
The ZL50070GAG2 includes a packet generator/detector module that enables the developers to quickly test, debug and monitor their designs. The packet generator/detector supports a variety of Ethernet, Ethernet/IP and other networking protocols including ARP, UDP/IP, IPv4, and Ipv6.
