Introduction

Working Principle

In such way, when the inductor carries a current and the switch opens, the current doesn’t suddenly stop because the inductor acts as an energy storage device. In this situation, the switch is closed and the inductor is connected across the input voltage, building up a stored magnetic field. When the switch opens, the magnetic field stored in the inductor collapses and causes a current to flow through the output, resulting in a voltage across the inductor that is higher than the input voltage. In addition, the Buck-Boost converter is able to maintain the output voltage to be stable despite the changes in input voltage by employing the feedback loop and PWM technology.
