The AS1362-33EB evaluation board is designed to demonstrate the function and performance of the AS1362, a 3A step-down regulator with very low quiescent current and instant response to voltage load transients. The board\'s on/off control is generated using the Global Automation Memory Controller (GAMC) to detect changes in the voltage supply or current load and generate an on/off control signal accordingly.The AS1362-33EB is a 6-layer 230 millimeter x 157 millimeter board that features a voltage regulator module. The AS1362 includes a P and N-type MOSFET, two capacitors and an inductor for power components, as well as a voltage switch control logic and oscillator for the on/off control. The board also contains three power supplies, two for the I/O voltage control and one for the output voltage.The AS1362-33EB\'s two power supplies provide up to 4A of output current. The board features a thermistor for output voltage regulation, temperature protection and thermal limitation, as well as an interface for programming the output voltage and avalanche safety mode. The AS1362-33EB also includes a soft start feature that limits the inrush current during start-up and a control of on/off time delays.The AS1362-33EB is suitable for powering DC-DC conversion of devices such as microprocessors, digital signal processors, FPGAs, and memory ICs. The board is also ideal for powering non-isolated switched mode power supplies and is capable of boosting input voltages up to 24V.The AS1362-33EB also supports bidirectional current limiting and a wide range of operating temperatures, from -40 to +105 degree Celsius. The board also complies with the specifications for the Cathode and Electrolytic Rated Operating Temperature (CROT) and for the Energy Star certification.The board is designed to operate in two modes: Pulse-width modulation (PWM) and Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). In PWM mode, the output voltage and frequency are programmable through the CAN bus interface, and the board can be operated in multiple voltage and current ranges. In MPPT mode, the board is capable of reducing the power dissipation of the load circuit and tracking the input voltage and output power.The AS1362-33EB is designed to provide maximum input and output protection, and is tested to meet International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) safety and electromagnetic interference (EMI) standards.
