Common switch

Commonly used switches are toggle switches, push button switches, and dual in-line switches. Those switches are polar components that can only be inserted in one direction when inserted into the board.

The polarity mark on the component body at the time of insertion must correspond to the polarity flag on the board. The toggle switch has a slot that is slotted down when the board is inserted and secured with two screws and a spacer when the switch is fixed. The surface of the DIP switch has a layer of tape that can be torn after soldering. The switch is indicated by the symbol S in the circuit. The shape is shown below.

Automatic switch : Relay

A relay is an electronic control device. It has a control system (also called an input loop) and a controlled system (also called an output loop). It is usually used in an automatic control circuit. It actually uses a small current to control a large current, also as known for an "automatic switch". Therefore, it plays the role of automatic adjustment, safety protection and conversion circuit in the circuit. It is indicated by the symbol K in the circuit.

Relays are polar components that can only be inserted in one direction when inserted into a circuit. The structure of the relay package and the relay pins on the board are the same, and generally no error is inserted.

The shape of the relay is shown below.

Note: Relays are available in both sealed and unsealed packages. Relays that are sealed relays can pass the wave soldering machine, and the unsealed relays cannot pass the wave soldering machine.
