How to Clean the Dust of an Inverter?

Last Update Time: 2018-12-21 13:41:03

The regular inspection of an inverter is preferably performed twice a year. When using the air compressor to clean the frequency converter, a moisture separator should be installed to prevent the moisture in the compressed air from being sprayed on the circuit board of the frequency converter, resulting in failure or oxidation of the components. When cleaning up the dust on printed circuit boards, air ducts, etc. of the inverter, be careful to take precautions against static electricity. There are especially much dust in the operating environment of the inverter, and the operating conditions are rather poor. The dust attaches to the surface of the circuit board of the inverter. When wet air is encountered, it will corrode the circuit board. After a long time, it will cause the circuit board's meta-equipment to a short-circuit, and the inverter will be broken. Under serious circumstances, fire and personal safety problems may occur.

1. Design a special frequency converter room.

When a number of inverters are used, or with a large power, a special inverter room can be designed. The door and window of the room and the cable through the wall hole should be sealed to prevent dust intrusion. Design air filtration equipment and circulation channels in order to maintain the normal circulation of indoor air; ensure the indoor temperature below 40 °C. Unified management is conducive to inspection and maintenance.

2. Installed in the cabinet with a fan and filter equipment.

When the user has no conditions to set up a special inverter room, he can consider making a dust-proof cabinet. Fans and filters are designed to ensure sufficient air flow inside the cabinet. The user should check the fan on time, eradicate the dust on the filter screen, and prevent the temperature from exceeding the specified value due to the lack of ventilation.

3.Choose a strong dust-proof inverter.

There are many specifications and models of inverters in the market. When selecting, in addition to quotation and function, the adaptability to the environment should also be considered. Some frequency converters do not have cooling fans and rely on their shells to dissipate heat naturally in the air. Compared with air-cooled inverters, although the volume is large, the sealing function of the equipment is good, free from dust, and the maintenance is simple. The failure rate is low. Longevity, is exceptionally suitable for use in corrosive industrial gases and dusts.

4. Reduce the no-load working time of the inverter.

General-purpose inverters are usually connected to the power supply during the industrial production process. With the inverter's “forward/reverse/common” control terminals (or the buttons on the control panel), it controls the start, suspending or rotation direction of the motor. Some devices may be on and off, and the fan is still working when the inverter is unloaded. It will absorb dust, which is unnecessary. During production operations, the inverter's dead time should be minimized to reduce the impact of dust on the inverter.

5. Establish the principle of cleaning dust regularly.

The user shall determine the time interval of dust removal according to the effect of dust on the inverter. Dust can be purged with an electric vacuum cleaner or compressed air. After dedusting, also pay attention to check the fan roll condition, and check whether the electrical connection is loose and produce heat.
