      What is the dot pitch?

     Dot pitch is the distance between two pixels to reflect the pixel density. Dot pitch and pixel density are the physical properties of the display screen; information capacity is the quantity unit of the information carrying capacity displayed by the pixel density per unit area at a time. The smaller the dot pitch, the higher the pixel density, the more information can be displayed per unit area at a time, and the closer the viewing distance is. The larger the dot pitch, the lower the pixel density, the less the information capacity per unit area can display at one time, and the longer the distance suitable for viewing.

      How to choose the dot pitch of LED display?

      The selection of the dot pitch of the LED display is related to two factors:

      First, the viewing distance of the LED display

      Where the display screen is placed, how far a person stands when looking at it is just an important factor in determining the dot pitch when selecting an LED display screen.

      There is generally a formula for the best visible distance = dot spacing / (0.3 ~ 0.8), which is a rough range. For example, for a 16mm dot pitch display, the best viewing distance is 20 to 54 meters. The distance between the stations is closer than the minimum distance. You can distinguish the pixels of the display. The graininess is strong and the distance is far. After that, the human eye can't distinguish the detailed features. (We target normal vision, excluding myopia and hyperopia). In fact, this is an approximate figure.

      For outdoor LED displays, P10 or P12 is generally used for short distances, and P16 or P20 is used for far away displays, while P4 to P6 are generally used for indoor display, and P7.62 or P10 are used farther.

Second, the total number of pixels of the LED display.

      For video, the basic is VCD format, resolution 352 * 288, DVD format 768 * 576. So for video screens, we recommend a minimum resolution of not less than 352 * 288, so that the display effect is good enough. If it is lower, it can be displayed, but it does not achieve better results.

      For single- and dual-primary LED display screens that mainly display text and pictures, the resolution requirement is not high. According to the actual size, the problem of displaying the 9th font at least can be determined according to the amount of your text.

      Therefore, the LED display is generally selected. The smaller the dot pitch, the better, the higher the resolution and the clearer the display. However, factors such as cost and demand and application scope must also be considered comprehensively.
