How to detect the value of HEF with a multimeter?

1.Method for detecting HFE.

First, the selection of the range switch.

When using a digital multimeter to check the HFE value of a transistor, it should first be based on whether the type of transistor being detected is NPN or PNP. To dial the range switch on the table to the corresponding NPN or PNP position.

Second,detection method.

After selecting the corresponding range, the three pins of the detected transistor can be inserted into the corresponding E and B.C holes in the table. At this time, the value displayed on the digital multimeter display screen is the HFE value of the transistor.

2.Use of the "peak holding" function.

The so-called "peak-holding" function is that a digital multimeter can hold the current peak on the display; in other words, "the final reading of the meter is the maximum in continuous measurement."

First, the function of "peak holding" function.

Peak retention is useful. For example, the "peak-holding" function may be useful when it is sometimes necessary to detect a certain point voltage in a "dangerous zone" (such as solder joint density, if a short circuit in adjacent feet causes a new fault, etc.).

Second,use method.

Put the digital multimeter in the "PH" state, ignore the display of the meter, just touch the pen and the point to be measured safely and reliably, then release the pen and read at ease.

For certain equipment to start up to protect against failure, if you need to know the voltage or current data of the machine at the key point of the short start-up period, you can use a digital multimeter in the "PH" state in advance to monitor the voltage or current at the key point, After the machine protection stops, the maximum value of this period can be read for analysis.
