A time relay is a relay that outputs an electrical shutdown or electrical turn-on signal after a predetermined time when an appliance or machine gives an input signal.

The power terminals of the time relay can generally withstand an external surge voltage of 1500V. If the surge voltage exceeds this value, a surge absorbing device must be used to prevent the time relay from breakdown and burning;
When the time relay is working repeatedly, the time when the power is turned off until the next power-on (rest time) must be greater than the reset time. Otherwise, the time relay that is not fully reset will generate a delay time offset during the next operation. Momentary or inactive;
The power-on time-delay time relay must have a power-on time of more than 0.5 seconds in order to have sufficient energy reserve to ensure that the load is turned on or off at a preset time after the power is turned off;
The power circuit of the time relay is generally high impedance. Therefore, the leakage current after the power is cut off should be as small as possible (semiconductor or RC parallel contact to switch the time relay) to avoid the induced voltage and false shutdown. Malfunction (for the power-off delay type, the delay time after power-off will occur but the relay will not release). Under normal circumstances, the residual voltage of the power supply terminal should be less than 20% of the rated voltage, and should be less than 7% of the rated voltage for the power-off delay type;
After the time relay completes its control work, try to avoid continuing to power on. Continuous power supply after the time will heat the product, which will accelerate the aging of electronic components and greatly shorten the service life.
