What is the relationship between the chip and the discrete device?

A chip is a general term for an integrated circuit.

A discrete device refers to a device other than an integrated circuit .It is a certain function device consisting of independent components such as a diode ,triode, resistor and capacitor. which complement each other and complement each other in order to simplify the hardware structure when constructing a circuit solution. To improve circuit reliability, it is often chosen to build an integrated circuit with integrated circuits as the primary discrete component.
