Future Development of White LED

Last Update Time: 2019-01-09 16:10:56

White LED has a place in the field of lighting, but in order to replace the traditional lighting equipment, the related technologies need to be improved. In view of the current challenges faced by white-light LED, its development trends can be summarized as follows:

1.Improving the luminescence efficiency of white LED.

The current commercialized white LED has low luminous efficiency, which is generally 50 Lm / W, and has not reached the standard of fluorescent lamp. The ways to improve the luminous efficiency include improving the quantum efficiency of the chip, optimizing the packaging technology of LED and improving the design of lamps and lanterns. The improvement of luminous efficiency of white LED is the only way to popularize and apply white light LED lighting technology.

2.To improve the color quality of white LED.

Most of the white light LED sold on the market has only about 75 white light quality display index and color temperature is higher than 5 000 K. it is difficult to meet the demand of people pursuing high quality lighting. The spectrum of white LED should be similar to that of the sun as much as possible, giving people a comfortable feeling, which is also an important direction for the development of white light LED in the future.

3. Strengthening the reliability of white LED.

It is necessary to develop a special LED driving power supply, solve the heat dissipation problem of white LED, and develop high quality phosphors for white LED.

Reduce the production cost of white LED. The high price of white LED, which is not in the position of competitive advantage in the lighting market, has become one of the main obstacles to restrict its application. The undeveloped white LED production is bound to revolutionize technology and control costs, thus reducing prices.
