In general, two types of terminal blocks are commonly used: the header type and the plug type. The Header type terminal blocks are designed to accept one or more plugs from a multi-wire connector. The header usually consists of two parts: the main body and the ridged surface that is grooved to accept the plug. The main body contains the electrical contacts, and the ridged surface fits into the grooves of the plug. When the plug is inserted, the contact pins make contact with corresponding spring contacts in the plug and the electrical connection is established.The Plug type terminal blocks are used to connect multiple wires in an electrical system. Typically, these types of terminals are used to form a connection between two or more wires and a circuit board. The plug terminal consists of four parts: the plastic case, the plug cable, the locking mechanism, and the contact pins. The plug cable contains multiple wires that are attached to the plug case.
