Terminal Blocks - Headers, Plugs and Sockets

3. Sockets

This makes them much easier to install than headers, as they do not require any wiring. Two metal contacts on the socket provide a secure connection with the male terminal of the plug.

Sockets are typically used when the connection needs to be removable, such as in test equipment or debugging systems. They are also popular for use in telecommunications applications, such as DSL and ISDN.
