Socket pin type headers feature pins which are inserted into a female counterpart. Socket in-line type headers feature pins which are inserted into a grooved female socket. The size and number of pins can vary depending on application requirements. Plug and SocketPlug and socket connectors provide a quick connect/disconnect mechanism to promote easy wiring and fault finding. The plug and socket configurations used depends on the application.
