Application field of 1N3912AR

In the power supply system, 1N3912AR can be used as rectifying bridge for PFC AC/DC converters, switching mode power supply, industrial power supply, telecom power supply, etc. In the electronic system, its applications including welding, DC motor, LED drivers, automotive electronics, consumer electronics, etc. Moreover, it can also be used for other general purpose applications such as voltage doubling and voltage regulating.

Working Principle of 1N3912AR

The working principle of 1N3912AR is based on the basic P-N junction rectification; it is composed of two oppositely doped semiconductors P-type and N-type. When the forward current flows through the diode, the P-side is positively charged and the N side is negatively charged, leading to the depletion of the part of depletion region. The electrons and holes are combined together and become neutral, forming a space-charge layer, so that the current can only pass through the conduction band. On the other hand, when a reverse voltage is applied to the diode, the electrons and holes are driven back to their respective sides, leading to the formation of an insulating layer in the depletion region, thus prohibiting the current from passing through the diode.
