1N4007-G Application Field and Working Principle

1N4007-G is a type of diode rectifier which is mainly applied in switching circuit and free-wheeling circuit. It features high temperature operation at +125°C and relatively low forward voltages.

A rectifier is an electrical device that converts alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). In a diode rectifier, the diode is in series with the load and permits current to only flow one way. This can prevent high-voltage spikes from reaching the load or unwanted capacitive coupling from the load to the supply.
