1N4693 Application Field and Working PrincipleThe 1N4693 is a single Zener diode. It is specifically designed to provide a constant voltage reference, adjustable by the addition of an external resistor and allowing the user to adjust the diode’s reference voltage; this is beneficial for providing a known, reliable voltage in a variety of applications. The 1N4693 is available in an axial leaded TO-220 package and offers a wide range of zener voltages, typically ranging from 5.1V to 91 V. Typical temperature range of operation is from -55°C to 125°C.
The 1N4693 is commonly used in applications such as voltage regulators, power supplies, AC-DC converters, DC-DC converters, and in low-voltage logic circuits. The 1N4693 is a Zener diode and the basics of it working are fairly straightforward; the Zener diode is a type of semiconductor diode that, similar to a regular diode, conducts an electric current when a voltage is applied to it\'s terminals.
