The 24VL025/ST is an ultra-compact, 2.5V 10 megabit (Mb) Serial NOR Flash Memory device that combines the industry standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) with high performance CMOS technology. It is ideal for applications requiring access to large amounts of code or data such as industrial, consumer and automotive systems. The 24VL025/ST features a low pin-count, fast random read performance, low active power consumption, 50 MHz clock frequency and supported by an extensive and reliable range of software and tools.
The 24VL025/ST is an excellent solution for applications that require fast random reads and simple serial interfaces. Its small size, low pin-count and high speed makes it ideal for systems such as mobile phones, medical devices, gaming systems, as well as automotive, healthcare, and industrial automation.
The 24VL025/ST is organized as 256Kbytes of memory and supports up to 2 Megabits (Mb) of serial NOR Flash memory in two stacked packages. The device includes a twice-page buffer, which helps reduce the write cycle time and ensure the data integrity of writes. It also supports dual-speed SPI bus operation, allowing the device to operate at frequencies up to 50 MHz for fast random reads and writes.
The 24VL025/ST is based on the standard SPI bus protocol, making it compatible with most microprocessors and non-volatile memories. It has a small 128-Byte page sizewrite buffer is available, which allows the device to perform multiple page writes without software intervention. The page write buffer is cleared when the Read or Write command is issued.
The 24VL025/ST also comes with an embedded wear-leveling feature, which is used to evenly wear the Flash array, thereby improving the reliability and lifespan of the device. The wear leveler ensures that data is evenly distributed across the four banks of the device, reducing wear-related failure rates.
