2D30UR is an electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) that uses ultrasound waves for non-contact ultrasonic testing. This testing technique has become increasingly popular due to its advantage over conventional ultrasound methods, which require direct contact between the test surface and the probe, resulting in wear of expensive probes. With EMAT, it is possible to test objects in difficult-to-reach places or with very small light ports. EMAT has also been successfully employed in automated inspection, due to its excellent repeatability and automated operation.
2D30UR works by using electromagnetic induction to generate ultrasound waves which propagate through the test object. When the ultrasound waves reach the surface of the object, they cause bulk waves to propagate through the surface. The waves are picked up by a receiver and passed through an amplifier which then sends the data to a computer for further analysis. This data is then used to construct a picture of the material\'s Mechanical Properties, such as its Young\'s module, density, and porosity, as well as its surface topography. By analyzing these two types of information, it is possible to detect damage, flaws, or other irregularities that are not visible to the naked eye.
2D30UR can be used to inspect a wide range of materials, including metals, ceramics, and polymers. It can be used to detect surface and subsurface imperfections, including welds, cracks, discontinuities, and corrosion. This type of inspection is especially useful when dealing with aging materials or components, where regular inspections and maintenance is required. It is also used for in-line monitoring of mechanical processes, such as rolling mills, billet heaters, castings, laminates, and other processes.
The procedure of using 2D30UR is relatively simple. The transducer needs to be placed in direct contact with the surface of the material being inspected. The operator then sets the appropriate parameters, such as the frequency and pulse length, and initiates the inspection. After the inspection is complete, the received data is analyzed to reveal the mechanical properties of the material, as well as any abnormalities or irregularities. The inspection data can then be used to determine whether or not repairs or changes need to be made to the material or component.
2D30UR is a revolutionary testing technology that has been widely adopted in a variety of industries due to its accuracy and reliability. It is a non-destructive test method and does not require direct contact with the test surface, making it an ideal tool for quality control and in-process monitoring. The cost of owning and using the system is also much lower than that of other methods, making it a viable alternative for a wide range of testing applications.
