Working Principle

The 2EZ3.6D10/TR8 diode consists of a two-layer semiconductor junction. It is based on the principle of a Zener breakdown, which is the process by which a reverse-biased pn junction is “broken down” and current freely flows in the reverse direction. When the reverse voltage across the diode exceeds a certain threshold, the junction breaks down, allowing current to flow in both directions. This way, the voltage on the diode (known as the Zener voltage) remains constant, even if the external voltage fluctuates.
