Modern electronic technology needs reliable transistors as basic components for strong operational performance, so that all the plays, radios, televisions and computers can work as expected. However, with the increasing complexity of the circuit requirements, the selection of better unipolar transistors is getting more and more difficult. This increases the potential barrier across the BE junction, thus increasing the flow of current from emitter to collector and thus, turns the BJT on.
