An aluminum electrolytic capacitor, (also known as an electrolytic capacitor or a polar capacitor), is an electrical component that stores energy between two conducting surfaces—an anode and a cathode—in an electrolyte that conducts ions. One of the most common forms of capacitance—widely used in many electrical circuits—is the 36DX122F450DF2A aluminum electrolytic capacitor.
Application Field
Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are mainly used in consumer electronics, electric motors, and other general power supply systems. Working Principle

The EDL is responsible for the storage of charge and energy. When current passes through the capacitor, ions of the electrolyte flow through the dielectric barrier following the electric field and the EDL is charged negatively on the electrolyte side and positively on the aluminum film side.
As the current passes through the capacitor, the electrolysis process occurs in the electrolyte which starts the formation of an oxide layer on the aluminum film. This oxide layer acts as an insulating barrier which increases the capacitance. Furthermore, due to the enlargement of the oxide layer, the Capacitance-Voltage (CV) curve of the 36DX122F450DF2A aluminum electrolytic capacitor is shifted towards the negative side and the capacitor behaves as a Capacitance Voltage Reversal Unit (CVU).
The oxide layer of the 36DX122F450DF2A aluminum electrolytic capacitor is also responsible for a high capacity and faster charge/discharge time. Additionally, the capacitor has a high self-healing property when the operating voltage is above the rated voltage. This is due to the fact that the oxide layer is adaptable to the gradual increase of the current, while the charge and energy stored in the oxide layer will prevent premature failure in the capacitor.
