It is suitable for use in pulse circuits, switching power supplies, inverters, DC/DC converters, DC/AC converters, and other power-related circuits. Its capabilities make it an ideal choice for high-speed, high-fidelity digital circuits, such as VRM for graphics cards.

The 380LX391M160H022 capacitors feature a maximum operating temperature of 105°C, a rated voltage of 16 V, a capacitance of 330 F, a peak pulse current of 20 A, a positive thermal coefficient, and high reliability. Its miniature cyclindrical design is low profile and helps reduce space requirements for high-density mounting. Made of aluminum, the 3800LX391M160H022 series capacitors use a patented anode foil design for low ESR and enhanced lifetime performance. The design also utilizes non-solid electrolyte construction to release internal pressure of the capacitor quickly and reduce stress on both the capacitor body and the capacitor PCB. The non-solvent electrolyte also has a low forward voltage, leading to better performance, higher rated voltage, and longer life.

In terms of working principle, aluminum electrolytic capacitors are polarized capacitors that use highly pure aluminum foil as its electrodes. Aluminum combined with an oxidizing agent forms aluminum oxide, which is then used as the dielectric between the electrodes. Activated carbon acts as the cathode, while the layer of aluminum oxide is used as the anode for increased voltage withstand (higher voltage rating). The result is highly stable capacitors with good leakage characteristics despite their relatively low capacitance.
