Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors
Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors are basically electrical components made of two metallic foils, separated by an absorbent paper soaked in an electrolyte solution. These capacitors are able to store electrical energy due to the electrodes\' ability to hold oppositely charged ions in an electric field. The most common kind is the aluminum electrolytic capacitor, which is usually cylindrical in shape and usually has a plastic or metal case that encloses an oxide-coated aluminum electrodes and separator. The name comes from the fact that it stores a charge using electrolytic conduction.
