3B60UR application field and working principle3B60UR is a type of non-mechanical, ultra-reliable, high-temperature, capacitive differential pressure measurement system that is employed in a variety of industrial applications. It has the ability to withstand operating temperatures of up to 2000°F (1100°C) and is virtually unaffected by challenging environment conditions including shock, vibration, humidity, and electro-magnetic interference. This makes the 3B60UR system highly reliable and suitable for applications that require continuous measuring and monitoring of differential pressure.Typically, the 3B60UR system measure pressure ranges from 14.7 PSI (1 bar) up to 35 PSI (2.5 bar). The system is comprised of a diaphragm-type pressure transducer mounted to a housing plate, pressure lines for connection to a reference and working pressure, and electrical connections for the transducer. The diaphragm couples with the surrounding pressure media and is positioned in such a manner that it experiences the fluid pressure differential across its top and bottom, or two sides of the diaphragm. A built-in absolute pressure reference system allows the 3B60UR system to measure differential pressure with no errors due to atmospheric pressure variations regardless of the altitude. The differential pressure transducer operates on capacitive technology, where the change in capacitance of a sensing film results in a change in electrical output. The diaphragm is placed between two copper or gold electrodes, each with a small charge, which together form an electrical capacitor. When differential pressure is applied on both sides of the diaphragm, it compresses the upper electrode and expands the lower electrode. This causes the gap to change, resulting in a change in capacitance, and a corresponding change in voltage from the transducer’s output terminals. A single 3B60UR pressure transducer can measure differential pressures from both the high pressure side and the low pressure side of the system. The 3B60UR system can be used in variety of production automated processes such as incubators, chambers, pressure vessels, ovens, and furnaces. It also finds application in medical devices, aerospace, oil & gas, HVAC, and auto-manufacturing as well as food and beverage production processes. The 3B60UR differential pressure transducer is a reliable and accurate measuring devices for a wide array of industrial applications. Its high-temperature capability makes it suitable for sensing process fluids up to 2000°F (1100°C).
