A Zener diode is a type of diode which allows current to flow in the forward direction in the same way as an ideal diode, but suggestively in the reverse direction, it will permit current to flow, yet the voltage across the diode will be constant. The Zener diode is to be used only in the reverse direction, and normally the reverse current should be limited to less than the zener current or rated current. If the zener current is exceeded, then the quiescent current can cause the voltage to go down.

The 3EZ19D10/TR8 is a single Zener diode manufactured by Vishay Intertechnology. It is a diode with a maximum Zener voltage of 10 V and a maximum Zener impedance of 4.7 W. The operating temperature range for this device is -55 to +125 °C.
