The 3EZ43D2/TR12 is a Zener single diode which has a variety of applications in terms of its processing capabilities. From general purpose to high power applications, the diode provides a reliable and efficient support system. It is a high-frequency Zener diode, which is capable of rectifying power into amplified voltages. The operations of this diode revolve around three distinct working principles, namely:-

Junction Breakdown

The 3EZ43D2/TR12 consists of a p-type and an n-type semiconductor materials that are attached at the junction. When a high enough voltage is applied to the junction, the Zener voltage breakdown begins to occur in the junction which results in high electric current passing through.

Zener Breakdown

The Zener breakdown principle has two modes of operation. The first mode is Static Breakdown, which essentially involves the application of a static voltage greater than the Zener voltage. This causes the junctions\' electric resistance to decrease and hence current passes through due to the reduced electrolytic resistance. The second mode of operation is Avalanche Breakdown, which involves the application of increasing voltage until the smallest change in voltage causes a huge decrease in the junction resistance.

Shockley Diode

The diode consists of a p-type and an n-type material that are attached at the junction. When the anode is positive and the cathode is negative, the flow of current is blocked and the diode is in its reversed-biased state. When the anode is negative and the cathode is positive, the current flows through the diode and the diode is in its forward-bias state.

The 3EZ43D2/TR12 is a high-frequency Zener diode which has a wide range of applications. It operates using the junction breakdown, Zener breakdown, and Shockley diode principles whereby it rectifies power into amplified voltages.
