TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diodes are semiconductor devices designed to protect circuits against transient voltage overshoots. The 3KASMC14AHM3_B/I has a significantly lower capacitance of 0.05 pF, compared to 0.3 pF for traditional TVS diode designs, which helps make ICs reach their full transfer speed (FTS). This enhanced performance feature makes the 3KASMC14AHM3_B/I particularly suited for high speed data interface protection. It also features an ultra-low leakage current, making it an ideal choice for protecting sensitive circuitry against ESD and EFT.
The 3KASMC14AHM3_B/I is also designed with an optimized breakdown stability, to ensure superior surge handling capability. This device also has an ultra-low leakage current to minimize power consumption and improve efficiency. The 3KASMC14AHM3_B/I is offered in an ultra-small DFN6 package, making it well suited for applications where space is limited. The packages are lead-free and RoHS compliant.
The working principle of the 3KASMC14AHM3_B/I is the same as other TVS diodes. When connected between two power supply points, it protects sensitive circuits against transient voltage by clamping the voltage to a safe level. This is achieved by connecting a reverse-biased diode between the two power supply points. When a short transient voltage overshoot occurs, the diode switches on and provides a clamping voltage that is proportional to the level of the transient.
