Terminal Blocks - Headers, Plugs and Sockets have a wide variety of applications and working principles.

The foundations of terminal blocks lie in the necessity of electrical connection which is frequently used in any sector, it can refer to use in the industry, at home or even in robotic applications. In the industrial environment, most of machine components or inputs require electrical connections that are easy to insert, and this is where they provide a great solution. The last type of connector is the Socket. These connecters are designed to provide smooth feeding of wires and connections which are reliably secure. A good example is in network patch cables where it is necessary that all components of a transmission system are properly connected. The socket ensures that all the wires are properly connected before transmitting data.

The underlying principle of terminal blocks uses a simple screw-clamp and a core that defines the cross-section of the wire to be connected. This core is usually coupled with a plastic or a metal hood which provides protection from the elements and provides insulation. The screw-clamp allows the user to easily connect and disconnect wires.

In summary, terminal blocks, specifically headers, plugs and sockets, are a widely used connection system in almost all sectors, from domestic to industrial, and this is due to their cost efficiency, ease of installation as well as protection from environmental effects.
